    Notification options (Groove 2007)

    Hello all (new member here)

Is there a way to facilitate external notification from Groove 2007?

In my case, I'd like to be able to automatically send/receive an email when a Groove item is updated in a workspace

Has anyone done this or similar? (Either as standard functionality or a workaround/customisation of some kind)

    Hope the question makes sense

PS - I know there is a notification system within Groove but it assumes you are always 'in' Groove

Not that I know of, but I'm sure someone out there must have done something.

GrooveIT! does the reverse - brings content from Outlook into Groove.

But there is a security risk in being able to automatically redirect content received into Groove into someone's mail file.  Think of Groove like a secure airlock. If Groove is used to manage draft content, there is a reasonable degree of certainty that the content doesn't leak outside of Groove.  One would have to copy something intentionally to a local store from Groove. If you start adding automatic redirectors, other Groove members lose the certainty that people are making concious decisions about what content should leave Groove.  So you lose one of the key differentiators that Groove has over other collaboration methods, namely the tight security envelope that Groove creates around content imported into, created or changed in Groove.

Fair points however I'm not looking for content to be 'redirected' as such

The workspace in question is effectively a basic publishing workflow. We're looking for (email) notification when an item is changed. Make sense?

    Any ideas anyone?
